HPB Conference

The High Performance Buildings: A Focus on Deep Energy Savings conference took place in San Diego, CA March 12 - 13, featured HPB case study sessions focused on design, construction and operation techniques used in buildings around the world. Also featured was a special session with the editorial advisory board, sharing lessons they have learned from reporting on the experiences of building team members featured in the magazine.

The conference’s focus on case studies and networking offered attendees an up-close and personal exchange of ideas on best practices for high performance buildings with more than 50 presentations in 16 sessions.

Of special interest was a seminar on Realizing Return on Investment, addressing bottom-line results with business case studies on net zero energy buildings in San Diego and Phoenix; financial metrics for comparing efficiency and renewables projects; Caltech’s Energy Conservation Investment Program; and life-cycle commissioning.
